Guwahati, Shillong and Imphal Tour Itinerary

Day 1
On arrival, you are received by our representative at The Airport/Railway Station and transferred to Hotel in Shillong, en-route visit Umiam Lake. Shillong became the first capital of the State of Meghalaya. Located in undulating pine-covered hills, the city has a milder climate than tropical India. The city centre is 1496 m above sea level and currently has a population of around 270,000. Home to several waterfalls, it is also known as the Scotland of the East. We stop to visit the Umiam Lake also known as 'Bara Pani' which is a vast and scenic reservoir surrounded by lush green hills. It is also a popular destination for water sports. Evening if time permits we visit the Wards Lake and the Cathedral Church.
Day 2
After a hearty breakfast, drive to Cherrapunjee (4,400 ft.) the wettest place in the world. We visit the beautiful and the tallest plunge waterfall in India known as Nohkalikai Falls. Enjoy the sight of water rushing down from 1,100 feet through the green forest into a deep waterhole which has unusually blue water like a lagoon. A short trek through some of the amazing terrain and watching a great variety of birds as we reach the entrance of Mawsmai Caves. This limestone caves have the distinction of being the only cave in Meghalaya that are lit enough to enable visitors to explore the natural formations in awe. Then, visit the Seven Sister Falls also known as 'Nohsngithiang Falls' is a seven segmented waterfall which plunges over the top of a limestone cliff. The view is spectacular which leaves one spellbound. Lastly, visit the Elephant Falls for some breathtaking views. A British officer named this falls owing to the presence of an elephant-shaped rock on one side of the falls. This rock was later destroyed due to an earthquake. At Elephanta Falls, one can get very close and enjoy its serenity. Post sightseeing, return back to the hotel in Shillong.
Day 3
Have breakfast and then transfer to Dawki Village. Enjoy local boating at Umngot River. After that proceed to Mawlynnong village, voted as Asia's cleanest village. Visit Sky View, which is a viewing platform built close to 60 feet up in the air on the branches of the highest tree in the forest. Also, visit the natural phenomenon, a living root bridge, which is 500 years old. Evening return to Shillong. Overnight stay will be at Shillong.
Day 4
Proceed to Jowai. En-route visit Laitlum Grand Canyon. Visit the KrangSuri Waterfalls. Return to Shillong and overnight.
Day 5
A day trip to Mawlynbna Village. Kayaking can be done in the river pools. Return to Shillong and overnight
Day 6
Visit Mawphlang Sacred Forest. Proceed to Mawsynram. Visit the Mawjymbuin Cave and the waterfalls at Mawsynram. Visit the Hot Water Spring at Jakhrem. Return to Shillong and overnight.
Day 7
After Breakfast and check out from Hotel you proceed for Bhalukpung. It is a small but picturesque town located along the southern reaches of the Himalayas in West Kameng, Arunachal Pradesh. Hereafter freshening up we can visit the majestic Kameng river and the Gorgeous waterfalls nearby. We can also visit the orchid farm at TIPI. The rest of the day is at leisure for independent activities.
Day 8
After a leisurely breakfast, proceed towards Dirang, On arrival in Dirang, check in to the hotel. Spend the rest of the day at leisure to explore the picturesque valley. In the evening you visit the apple orchids and the Yak farms.
Day 9
After a leisurely breakfast, we spend the day exploring the beautiful Dirang Valley. Attractions in Dirang is- Sangti Valley, Dirang Dzong, Hot water spring, Kalchakra Gompa.
Day 10
Transfer from hotel in Dirang to the hotel in Tawang, en route visit Sela Lake, Sela Pass and Jaswant Garh War Memorial (Private). One of the most breath taking and heavenly place, Sela Lake is also known as 'Paradise Lake' because of its natural beauty. The lake is fully or partially frozen in the winters. The Sela Pass is a lifeline for the people of here as it is the only way that connects Tawang district of the state to the rest of the country. It is a high-altitude mountain pass and has an elevation of 4170m (13,700ft.). It's a beautiful place always covered in snow providing scenic views of the eastern Himalayan range. The Jaswant Garh War Memorial commemorates the bravery of the martyred Indian soldiers of the 1962 Indo- China War. Set in the scenic Tawang valley, the memorial is dedicated to the Rifleman Jaswant Singh Rawat of the 4 Garhwal Rifles. On arrival in Tawang, check in to the hotel. Evening you visit the famous Tawang monastery which is known in Tibetan as 'Galden Namgey Lhatse' which translates to 'celestial paradise in a clear night'. The monastery plays a critical role in the social and religious life of the Monpas.
Day 11
Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Tawang . After a leisurely breakfast, proceed on a sightseeing tour of Tawang. Tawang is a beautiful land with picturesque landscapes, panoramic mountains, clam villages, quiet lakes and magical gompas. Some of the places to visit today is - Bumla Pass, Madhuri Lake, Pangateng Tso Lake, Goricen Peak, Note- Fort this Tour Army Permit is required and only local Vehicle is allowed. Cost is Rs.5000.00 which is included in the package.
Day 12
Rupa is a small hill station, which lies on the banks of the meandering Tenga River. Tourists can enjoy a picturesque view of the hills and the Tenga River. A morning or evening drive around the Rupa border is breathtaking. The natural beauty at the places not only touches our minds but our soul even. The town also provides a great opportunity to visit Shertukpen, the authentic tribal village in the city.
Day 13
After Breakfast and check out you are transferred to Kaziranga Sanctuary and on reaching there we check-in at Hotel. Evening Cultural Show and overnight stay.
Day 14
Before breakfast, you venture for the famous Elephant Safari(Private) in the Bagori Range (Rs.1000.00 per head).After breakfast, you can also enjoy the Jeep Safari ( Private-Rs.2850 per Jeep) starting from 10 AM. After the Safari you proceed straightway for Mokokchung in Nagaland
Day 15
The popular tourist spots in the area include the District Museum, the Town main park, (located just above the Town Center), Unman village (which is regarded as the oldest and largest) and the Ao village. Since agriculture constitutes the main occupation in the area, festivals during the sowing and harvesting months are sure to enhance the tourist's experience. After sightseeing and Lunch you proceed for Kohima, the Capital of Nagaland.
Day 16
After Breakfast, you are transferred to Khonoma The Green Tribal Village and check-in at Homestay. This morning we take a walk around the village and learn about different aspects of their lives and what makes them unique. The Angami Naga is known to be the last bastion of the Naga warriors and there are a number of memorial stones that celebrate their achievements. The village also has a very interesting water system where the water is piped long distances using bamboo. This village is very iconic in that it is surrounded by green rice terraces. You return to Kohima We then take a sightseeing tour of Kohima, the capital of Nagaland. The main tribe in the area are the Angami but there are also both the Rengma and Zeilang tribes here too. The village also has a World War II memorial which is well worth a visit. The state museum of Kohima is a great place to learn more about the Naga tribes and their unique ways of life. The War cemetery is one of the best in India and photographers delight. We also visit the Hornbill Festival village where tourists from all over the world visit during its annual festival.
Day 17
After Breakfast, you proceed for Imphal and after reaching check-in at Hotel in Imphal, the capital of Manipur. Imphal, the capital of Manipur, is a scenic city. It is located in the centre of the beautiful Manipur valley and is surrounded by plains and hills. Dense forests and sprawling grasslands make the place a heaven on earth. It reflects the rich tradition of the state. Evening we visit the local market and surroundings. Overnight stay in Imphal.
Day 18
After breakfast you proceed for the tour of Imphal.Here are the leading tourist destinations in Imphal. Loktak Lake Red Hill Lokpaching Kangla Fort Sirohi National Park Manipur State Museum Khonghampat Orchidarium Matai Garden Overnight stay in Imphal.
Day 19
Early morning we leave in the morning to visit the Indo-Myanmar Border Town of Moreh. On reaching there we will cross over to the Myanmar side to see altogether a different culture and lifestyle in their nearest town of Tamu. There we will make a quick visit to the Buddhist Pagoda and the Local Market, then spend some time in the Namphalong market. Return back to Imphal and overnight.
Day 20
Today is the last day of your Tour. After breakfast we checkout from the Hotel and visit some of the remaining sights and after that, we drop you at the The airport at your scheduled departure time.
